MRO SURVEY 2014

July 22, 2014

Original equipment manufacturers won the market for high-value, aftermarket aviation services, leaving independent maintenance, repair, and overhaul providers scouting for paths to evolve and grow. Despite the newfound prominence of OEMs in their traditional markets, engine and component MROs are preparing to fortify their remaining footholds through strategic partnering and by accelerating development of unique services. Airframe MROs, meanwhile, seek to capitalize on shifts caused by rising labor costs in emerging economies, long a favored maintenance destination for US and Western European fleets.

Autonomous shipping

whitePaper | December 9, 2022

Autonomous shipping is set to revolutionize work in the maritime industry not by replacing humans on board vessels but by augmenting their cognitive capabilities to enhance the ship operators’ potential. Smart highways reduce congestion and save lives

whitePaper | July 14, 2022

The good news is that developments in ITS, the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advances in exciting areas such as driverless cars and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication will help alleviate congestion, reduce accidents and increase safety. As states struggle to balance funding priorities, including transportation, ITS technology and the emerging IoT ecosystem can enhance investments in transportation infrastructure, which is critical to the economic and social fabric of the U.S. and safe travel. For example, active traffic management, which includes advance notice about traffic conditions to motorists using variable speed limits, lane management signs and overhead message signs, has reduced collisions and congestion in the Seattle I-5 corridor. Similar initiatives are emerging elsewhere. Around the world the ITS ecosystem is making a difference.

2022 Supply-Chain Disruptions For Automotive Industry

whitePaper | June 1, 2022

The world is walking out of the shadow of the COVID-19 lockdown. However, the pandemic has long-lasting side effects on the automotive industry. In the past 18 months, the supply chain has seen several disruptions that worsened as new geopolitical events occurred. Rising material prices are hitting supplies, while logistics costs remain high, and the availability of major components such as semiconductors remains far below requirements. Moreover, the acceleration of electrification adds a layer of difficulty. Electric vehicles require many more semiconductors and rare earth materials, while the supply is still in shortage. Lately, China’s supply chain was hit with lockdowns, slowing down raw material processing and component deliveries that are critical to the automotive industry from a global perspective
