The Scottish industry and the public sector have established a new cluster dedicated to supporting the growth of the offshore wind supply chain on the east coast of Scotland. The Forth & Tay Offshore cluster includes the Angus, Dundee City, Fife, Perth & Kinross, East Lothian and Scottish Borders councils with support from SSE, EDF Renewables and Red Rock Power Limited. The parties said that a series of activities designed to support innovation, collaboration, investment in skills and market awareness will take place, while promoting existing supply chain capabilities. According to the participants, the new cluster is established as part of the UK Government’s Sector Deal for Offshore Wind, which set a target of 30GW of operating capacity by 2030.
