Sustainable Supply chains – Healthcare

June 28, 2015

A list of healthcare companies were assessed, which were all large, primarily Fortune 500 companies. They ranged from health insurance companies to healthcare product suppliers. Some of the main sustainability issues in this industry are that the companies are not publishing specific vendor codes regarding LHR and Environmental Sustainability. There were some companies that did pretty well with this, but most of them did not get specific in these regards. They address some of these items in their own CSR report, but they don’t get into a lot of details about their expectations or requirements of their vendors. They mostly talk internally about what they are doing in these categories. This is great, but as we know they need to be monitoring and managing everyone in their supply chain to ensure a truly sustainable supply chain.

Supply Chain Illumination: The Value of Mapping Supply Chains

whitePaper | September 12, 2022

The supply chains of many organizations are becoming increasingly complex. At the same time, potential business risks around supply chains are growing, due to increasing regulations regarding supply chain security, emerging cybersecurity risks, international sanctions, environmental and carbon concerns, product quality issues, climate-related weather events, increasing supply costs, and numerous other potential disruptors. Most organizations don’t fully understand their supply chain. Companies often underestimate the number of businesses, actors, and countries involved in different stages of producing their products. A security or production vulnerability in just one part of a given product’s chain could have a huge impact on an organization’s production, mission, or business if something were to interfere with the supply.

Alternative Fuels Outlook For Shipping 2022

whitePaper | November 10, 2022

Following the 2015 adoption of the Paris Agreement, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) set targets to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the shipping industry. The IMO is aiming for a minimum 50% reduction in total annual GHG emissions by 2050, as compared to 2008 levels. Many shipping industry bodies and IMO members, however, are advocating for a net zero target for 2050. This would require much more ambitious interim objectives for 2030 and 2040 to stay on track to meet the Paris Agreement.
