Green hydrogen, made from renewable electricity, can be used as part of a sustainable energy
system to provide grid balancing services and to decarbonise a wide range of 'hard to reach'
end uses. Once such end-use is the long-haul, heavy-duty trucking sector, where hydrogen
fuel cell vehicles are able to provide the long range and fast refuelling required by end users.
The deployment of hydrogen trucking must start now and ramp-up quickly if the ambitious
emissions reductions targets of net-zero by 2050 are to be achieved. This will allow the sector
to scale-up green hydrogen and truck production volumes, and cost reductions to be realised
