5G – SHAKING UP THE LOGISTICS INDUSTRY

April 30, 2019

The next generation of mobile technology will soon cover one-third of the global population – 5G is set to arrive within the next three years. 5G as compared to previous network generations has shorter latency (time to transmission information), higher frequency (more data) and wider bandwidth (coverage) and it is the first network that can be customized to customers and use cases (‘private networks’). This shift to a smarter, more connected world will shake up the mobile industry, for both providers and consumers. To what extent will 5G impact the logistics industry? How do you ensure readiness in your supply chain for 5G rollouts? How can 5G make your supply chain smarter and which use cases already exist? All these are key questions which actually haven’t been answered in detail but which are crucial to raise in order to succeed in the deployment phase of 5G.
