OOCL reports plunging 2015 revenues and container volume

Orient Overseas Container Line reported a sharp drop in container volume and plunging revenue on the Asia-Europe trade in 2015, with a particularly dismal fourth quarter dragging down figures on the oversupplied route.The container transport unit of Hong Kong-listed Orient Overseas (International) Ltd. said in an operational update that fourth quarter volumes on Asia-Europe fell 16.4 percent to 206,600 TEUs. Revenue during the period was an incredible 35.6 percent lower than during the fourth quarter of 2014.
