Ochsner Health and Medline will Collaborate on Supply Chain Strategies and Outcomes

Ochsner Health, a nationally known provider serving Louisiana, Mississippi, and the Gulf South, and Medline established a prime vendor relationship today. The two companies will collaborate to develop innovative ways for improving operational, financial, and clinical efficiency across the health system.

As part of the arrangement, Ochsner Health (Ochsner) will get access to a diverse portfolio of vital medical supplies, logistical services, and solutions that will assist improve patient outcomes and manage supply chain operations. These capabilities will continue to enhance Ochsner's supply chain and its critical role in supporting the high quality care provided by Ochsner's hospitals, from providing excellent customer service and superior tracking for Ochsner's supplies to driving operational and clinical efficiencies as the system's exclusive medical-surgical distributor.

"The COVID-19 epidemic has highlighted the significance of a solid supply chain, and we are thrilled to be partnering with Medline as our sole medical-surgical distributor," said Régine Honoré Villain, Chief Supply Chain Officer at Ochsner Health. "By collaborating with Medline, we can guarantee that our physicians have access to the medical supplies they need to offer the best possible care to our patients in the communities we serve across Louisiana and Mississippi."

Medline started construction on a new distribution hub in Hammond, Louisiana, in March. This medical-grade facility will store a wide range of goods and tens of millions of dollars in inventory to ensure that Medline can meet the region's healthcare requirements, particularly Ochsner's. Furthermore, when fully operational, the 650,000 square foot facility would provide 350 construction jobs and 450 employment for surrounding residents.
