Metro Supply Chain Group Expands its Fulfillment Network with the Addition of a Third U.S. Site

Metro Supply Chain Group, a North American leader in end-to-end supply chain solutions, adds a new U.S. site to its fulfillment network, allowing it to serve over 98% of customers with two-day deliveries. The new 100,701 square-foot Class A warehouse in Kansas City, Missouri, operated by National Fulfillment Services, a Pennsylvania-based subsidiary of Metro Supply Chain Group, will offer expedited shipping solutions to its e-commerce customers from strategically located distribution points.

"When Metro Supply Chain Group acquired National Fulfillment Services in 2017, our goal was to improve the e-commerce experience," said Martin Graham, Group President of Metro Supply Chain Group. "With the launch of this new Midwest fulfillment center, our clients will be able to meet the majority of U.S. postal codes with expedited shipping, which is critical in today's competitive environment."

The Midwest extension followed some criteria, including travel times and proximity to major distribution hubs.

"Kansas City is an excellent location; it's within 15 minutes of KCI Airport, has a thriving labor market for employees, and expands our reach to support our clients' industry growth requirements," Kathy McDevitt, Director of Operations for National Fulfillment Services, said.

With the majority of clients using Amazon as a sales channel, National Fulfillment Services recognized the need to provide customers with Seller Fulfilled Prime and affordable transit times.

"This expansion is part of a multi-year plan to minimize delivery times and prices by delivering orders closer to the end customer," Taylor Callahan, Business Development Manager for National Fulfillment Services, said.
