Locix and MITSUI-SOKO Supply Chain Solutions Announce International Deployments for Warehouse Spatial Intelligence Solutions

MITSUI-SOKO Supply Chain Solutions (MSCS), a major worldwide distribution and logistics company, has successfully implemented Locix’s WSI solutions at various facilities in Japan and Malaysia, according to Locix, a next-generation innovator in Warehouse Spatial Intelligence (WSI) solutions. MSCS used Locix’s SmartLPS technology to boost productivity, efficiency, and safety in their warehouse, reduce worker walking distance by more than 23%, and improve picking efficiency by 13%. Furthermore, Locix and MSCS have agreed to work together to accelerate the digital transformation of logistics and supply chain by promoting Locix’s WSI solutions as part of MSCS’s new supply chain digital transformation.

Gartner estimates that the Supply Chain Management Software industry is already worth more than $15 billion per year. Locix is pioneering a new category in Supply Chain Management software, “Warehouse Spatial Intelligence,” with this solution, which provides spatial visibility into real-world warehouse operations as a standalone solution or through integration with existing Supply Chain Management Software solutions such as Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

MSCS has extended the deployment area at that facility to cover the whole two-floor operation (20,000 sq. m.) after the success of the first SmartLPS trial in their facility at Prologis Park Ichikawa 3, and they have recently deployed SmartLPS in another site in Bangi, Malaysia (20,000 sq. m.).

Locix’s WSI solutions, which are focused on warehouse and dock operations, enhance overall warehouse productivity and efficiency: SmartLPS provides complete and continuous visibility into employee productivity, safety, forklift utilization, and inventory slotting, whereas SmartDock provides real-time dock status and utilization analysis, assisting in reducing the dock’s position as the warehouse’s bottleneck while also lowering shipping and detention costs.
