Convoy and Flexport Announce Strategic Partnership to Provide Shippers with End-to-End Digitization
Convoy, the nation's most efficient digital freight network, and Flexport, the global logistics platform, have announced a long-term strategic collaboration to provide end-to-end shipment automation over land, sea, and air. The collaboration utilizes Flexport's international client base and Convoy's North American carrier network to provide seamless logistics services to customers while expanding business capabilities for both companies through a new shared data exchange that seamlessly integrates shipments across both platforms.
Shippers have traditionally struggled to track shipments across a patchwork of logistics companies and digital solutions as their freight travel from international to local destinations.
Customers will be able to transfer their products through international and domestic transportation using the Flexport platform due to this collaboration. Capturing all communication, data, and reporting in one place will increase operational efficiency, providing clients with an end-to-end perspective of their supply chain and assisting them in better understanding total landed cost from purchase order to inception to final delivery. Customers with a complete understanding of their supply chain spend can make more educated and dynamic choices to guarantee their freight gets to where it needs to go as effectively and as quickly as possible.
Both companies have agreed to contribute to the consolidated platform, which will offer competitive and comprehensive end-to-end solutions while decreasing friction and enhancing service delivery via a multi-phased approach to complete system integration. As part of the collaboration:
• Flexport gets access to Convoy's extensive carrier network, as well as greater integration with Convoy's products and services, allowing Flexport to expand its truckload service options and provide visibility to customers once goods arrive at domestic ports.
• Convoy will connect directly with Flexport's operational dashboard, Transmission, and its network of international clients to expand its domestic market.
• Shippers will be able to book end-to-end loads directly on the Flexport platform, with truckload delivery services powered by Convoy.
This announcement comes at a pivotal moment in the shipping industry's reaction to unprecedented global trade challenges on land, sea, and air. The collaboration builds on Convoy and Flexport's existing strong collaborations to provide international shippers with more visibility and a better customer experience while eliminating waste in the supply chain. Flexport adopted Convoy's self-service shipper platform for transactional freight in 2018, marking the beginning of the two technology companies' collaboration. Convoy developed dedicated Flexport assistance over time to implement Convoy's technology and services for contractual and non-contractual freight, drop and hook and live loads. Convoy, in turn, has used Transmission to connect with Flexport's internal operations teams and clients, resulting in a more seamless experience and end-to-end supply chain visibility.
