AEVA and Plus will reveal the remarkable design of their PlusDrive autonomous driving solution, which is integrated with the innovative Aeries II 4D LiDAR sensor. It’s a significant step forward for automated driving solutions and a huge massive milestone in pursuing a safer and more efficient future.
Class 8 truck featuring PlusDrive Autonomous Technology and Aeries II 4D LiDAR will be showcased at CES 2023. The new truck model will be presented in Aeva's exhibition booth at the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show.
Currently, Plus's trucks are equipped with advanced 4D LiDAR technology to sense the environment around them at long ranges accurately. The new technology will help detect safety-critical objects, place them in lanes, and assign an accurate velocity, allowing the trucks to react quickly in safety-critical situations and stop faster than traditional heavy-duty trucks. As a result, plus trucks can create a safer and more secure driving experience with this advanced system.
Plus and Aeva have been working together since 2019 to integrate and validate the former's autonomous trucking solutions with Aeva's Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) 4D LiDAR. This partnership grew in 2021 when Plus said it would use Aeva's 4D LiDAR sensors to improve the long-range perception system in its automated driving products.
Furthermore, Aeva's 4D LiDAR combines cutting-edge long-range perception with valuable instant velocity detection, helping to expand the capabilities of highly automated trucks. Plus is thrilled to partner with Aeva for its newest model, Aeries II, to be unveiled at this year's CES.
