Port of Antwerp wants more links to Germany

Approximately 68.1 million t of goods were transported between the port of Antwerp (Belgium) and Germany in 2016. This equates to +4 million t, or +6.1%, compared to 2015.In terms of tonnage, truck traffic rose by 4.3%, barge traffic grew by 7.3% and rail transport noted a healthy 8.3% increase. Road haulage continued to take the top slot in the modal split, but lost percentage shares to the railway and inland waterways.
