The Advantages of Multi Carrier Shipping Solutions

January 20, 2023

The Advantages of Multi Carrier
UPS, FedEx and other carriers spend large sums of money advertising that all of your parcel shipping needs can be satisfied by one vendor. In return for your business, the carrier will provide (at a very low price, or even free) the hardware and software your company needs to automatically create shipments, assign tracking numbers, print labels, and produce the required end-of-day reports. All you need to do is pick, pack, wrap, and have it on your dock. And, by placing all of you
parcel requests with one carrier, it is reasonable to assume that you will be getting the best rate, given your level of volume. How can things get better than that?

A holistic approach to sustainable shipping

whitePaper | May 20, 2022

Developing solutions for sustainable shipping requires a holistic view. Main engines for future vessels will no longer be used solely for propulsion. Instead, they will be part of an integrated energy system which in turn will be connected to other vessels, ports and even the complete transportation or logistics chain. Sustainable shipping solutions will also depend on the supply of fuels with a minimal carbon footprint, while future engines will need to be capable of using those fuels reliably, efficiently and with low emissions.

Alternative Fuels Outlook For Shipping 2022

whitePaper | November 10, 2022

Following the 2015 adoption of the Paris Agreement, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) set targets to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the shipping industry. The IMO is aiming for a minimum 50% reduction in total annual GHG emissions by 2050, as compared to 2008 levels. Many shipping industry bodies and IMO members, however, are advocating for a net zero target for 2050. This would require much more ambitious interim objectives for 2030 and 2040 to stay on track to meet the Paris Agreement.

Electric vehicle (EV) adoption has reached a tipping point. It is now accelerating toward mass market adoption, particularly in states taking proactive measures to encourage transportation electrification.
