DHL expands connections between Asia, Europe and North Africa

DHL | January 29, 2016

Bonn/Duisburg - DHL Freight is now further expanding its multimodal network and linking Asian overland and intermodal transportation operations with Europe and North Africa. This was announced by DHL at a joint event with Duisburger Hafen AG (duisport) at the logport site in Duisburg-Rheinhausen. DHL is further expanding its offering through the Duisburg hub with the rail transport service for groupage transport. Of particular interest to companies that can’t necessarily fill a full container on their own, the logistics supplier is also offering the option of consolidating shipments at the DHL Freight Terminal Duisburg. DHL customers thus have the opportunity to design intercontinental supply chains in an uncomplicated fashion and can additionally leverage the time and cost advantages of rail transportation compared with sea or air freight alternatives. Here, customers benefit from the advantageous geographical location of Duisburg, which results in particular from its close proximity to the European economic regions, outstanding logistic connections and excellent infrastructure.

Montway Auto Transport Announces Enhanced Visibility of the Automotive Supply Chain with New Digital Platform

Montway Auto | August 02, 2022

The transportation and logistics industry has lagged in the digitalization trend that has modernized other industries. Moving vehicles through the supply chain relies on manual tasks and multiple platforms, offering dealers little sense of where in-transit vehicles are until they arrive at the lot or are checked in at auction. Montway Auto Transport, one of the nation's leading third-party logistics brokerages, launched the Montway Automation Portal (M.A.P.), a digital platform that improves efficiency for both shippers and carriers, enables visibility of inbound and outbound vehicles for better inventory management and helps control or reduce transportation costs. "The challenges keep mounting for dealerships, auctions, rental car companies and other businesses that rely on vehicle movements and our business customers want innovations to help them gain a competitive advantage,The Montway Automation Portal provides the transparency they need to better manage inventories and increase speed to consumers." -Mike Trudeau, Executive Vice President of Business Development at Montway Auto Transport. M.A.P. is built on industry-leading, proprietary technology that leverages market-based pricing and a streamlined transportation management system. Users can enter a VIN or multiple VINs into the portal to receive pricing, book orders and track units in real-time to complete delivery via a user-friendly dashboard. Additionally, M.A.P. offers public tracking links users can share with end customers, on-demand pricing and a centralized location for storing digital records (proof of delivery documents, BOLs, gate passes and photos). "Digitization is a proven way to transform businesses and auto transport is no exception. M.A.P. was designed to modernize and optimize auto transport from creating orders to providing tracking of units through to delivery,Shippers now have real-time access to their transportation data, allowing them to manage inventory as well as understand and control transportation expenses." -Kaye Ceille, President, Business Solutions Group at Montway Auto Transport. Innoviz and HiRain Technologies Deploy InnovizOne Across Shipping Ports in China

Innoviz | September 06, 2022

Innoviz Technologies (NASDAQ: INVZ), a leading provider of high-performance, automotive-grade LiDAR sensors and perception software, and its strategic partner HiRain Technologies, a leading Tier 1 solutions provider for the Chinese automotive market, today announced the deployment of InnovizOne LiDAR sensors at ports across China, including on HiRain's autonomous trucks and AGVs. The first deployment started in RiZhao port, with both parties planning to expand the project to additional ports.Using InnovizOne LiDAR and HiRain's Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), the combined solution is now being used at ports across China, including on autonomous trucks and AGVs, and for Vehicle to Anything (V2X) applications, to improve operational efficiency, mitigate risks and enhance worker safety. Innoviz and HiRain's sensing system is highly durable and can detect vehicles and pedestrians, as well as infrastructure typically found at ports with precise location, distance and size. HiRain's fully integrated system also includes LiDAR protection, heat radiation protection, shock absorption, noise reduction, dustproofing and cleaning. HiRain developed its own roadside V2X solution using InnovizOne LiDAR. The five-in-one sensor unit monitors traffic from a bird's eye view, collecting environmental data and sending it in real time to a high-performance computer, which then broadcasts the data to all surrounding trucks in order to avoid collisions. "The global supply chain crisis is being made worse by labor shortages and higher levels of congestion at ports in China and around the world, The deployment of HiRain's autonomous vehicle and V2X systems using InnovizOne LiDAR comes at an especially opportune time, as it will greatly improve efficiencies and enable 24/7 operations." -Omer Keilaf, co-founder and CEO of Innoviz. Innoviz and HiRain began working together in 2018, and HiRain plans to integrate Innoviz's next-generation LiDAR sensor, InnovizTwo, into its platforms, to make port operations even safer and more efficient. "LiDAR is one of the most critical technologies of our time and will play an outsized role in the development of not just autonomous vehicles, but also the infrastructure they require to communicate with one another, We have very much enjoyed working with the Innoviz team to bring these products to market, and look forward to developing additional products using Innoviz's solutions." -Dr. Chengjian Fan, CTO & Deputy GM of Hirain Technologies About Beijing JingWei Hirain Technologies Founded in 2003, HiRain focuses on providing electronic products, R & D services and overall solutions for high-level intelligent driving to customers in the fields of automobile and unmanned transportation.
