Container Crane Orders Continue a Long Term Trading Relationship

Killarney based Liebherr Container Cranes recently handed over four ship to shore (STS) container cranes to customers in the USA. The cranes are specifically produced to suit the needs of the clients involved, Port Newark Container Terminal, New Jersey (PNCT) and Penn Terminals in Eddystone, Pennsylvania. The two 69 metre megamax outreach cranes for PNCT are the first of four new Liebherr STS cranes which form part of an improvement and expansion plan, which will see the terminal grow to 309 acres and significantly increase container throughput capacity. In addition to the huge outreach capability, the units boast a span of 30.48 metres and a back-reach of 20 metres. Lift height over rail is 50.3 metres and the cranes have a safe working load of 66 tonnes under a twin-lift spreader.
