Hyundai Glovis | June 02, 2021
Hyundai Glovis has established a new manual for EV ocean transportation and implemented a specialized solution in the loading-shipping-unloading process. Because EVs differ from conventional internal combustion vehicles, a new customized EV handling solution is required.
Hyundai Glovis has designed and deployed a shipping guide tailored to the characteristics of EVs in the workplace.
To begin, Hyundai Glovis offers EV customized management services by marking shipping requests with 'EV' to distinguish them from combustion vehicles.
Furthermore, Hyundai Glovis has been developing a customized system to automatically send EV condition/SOC (state of charge)/another shipper's requested information in advance to the shipper.
To maintain the highest cargo quality, loaded cars are subjected to a continual checking method that includes battery condition, exterior, and so on.
Cooperative data such as loading deck temperature and humidity and battery use during transit are communicated on the shipper side.
Hyundai Glovis, on the other hand, intends to target not just current conventional OEM producers but also new EV producers.
New EV manufacturers have much less logistical experience than current OEM manufacturers. As a result, Hyundai Glovis offers a one-stop solution that includes terminal/land/sea transportation.
Hyundai Glovis established the EV emergency manual and required quarterly EV emergency training.
Hyundai Glovis recently signed an MOU with Korean Resister for JDP of safe sea transportation of EV. Both parties sympathized with each other to improve/advance EV shipping regarding ship stability/safety through this MOU.
It is also being developed to install safety devices and tailored EV equipment on newly constructed vessels.
Hyundai Glovis expects to improve its trust and credibility by collaborating with the Korean Register, one of the world's seven most acceptable ship classifications.
Hyundai Glovis captured almost 40% of the global EV car carrier market last year, carrying 180,000 EVs over 90 car-carrier fleets and 80 global networks.
Hyundai Glovis is focused on establishing a specialized EV ocean transport system for preemptive response in the era of EV shift.
