Imperial Logistics opens Volkswagen packaging centre in Germany
Imperial Logistics has opened a Volkswagen Group packaging centre at JadeWeserPort, in Wilhelmshaven, Germany, which is said to be highly automated.Construction on the 40,000m² facility started in July and took a period of nine months to complete. Imperial Logistics is responsible for managing and operating the plant.Volkswagen Group Logistics management board member Astrid Lühring said: “With the integration of the packaging centre in Wilhelmshaven, we have optimised our supply network and so reduced logistics costs for the supply of our overseas plants.
