State leaders may complain about corporate welfare, but they're not eager to end it. That’s working out pretty well for North Texas, where companies are taking home more than their share of the taxpayer bounty. Since 2004, companies in this area have received $237 million in grants from the Texas Enterprise Fund, a pool of state money used to entice corporate relocations and expansion. That’s 39 percent of the total allocation and $100 million more than the Houston and Austin regions.
